Candy Tasting (Princess)

Ruth absolutely loved the Meeko's Sweets and Snacks store in the village's shopping district. In fact it was the only shop Ruth ever visited and always without fail she spent her entire allowance there. Why? Because they had the best candy in the entire school and that was before the village closed. Of course hearing that the village was closed made Ruth sad because that meant she couldn't get any more candy and she had to, gummy bear forbid, actually ration what she had left. It had been a sad, sad time. Except for Ruth's bratty emotions. That had been a really annoying time for the girl. 

But that was in the past and now Meeko's was open again! So now she could get all the candy she wanted, plus all the new stuff they were talking about, so the moment she heard that the candy store was open again she made a beeline for the store. Figuring since she had more money than usual because of the fact she didn't spend it anywhere else, she was able to not only stock up on her favorites, but get at least one piece of all the new stuff as well. It was a very good haul indeed and that's why the blonde had a huge grin on her face as she waved goodbye to the nice cashier and went back onto the village streets with a huge sack of candy on her back. 

She was planning to head back to the dorms and try out her new candy stash there, but she saw a friendly face first. A face she was sure that would love to try all this new stuff with her. "Princess!" She called out waving like a little kid before running up to her friend. "Guess what? Guess what? Meeko's open again! And they have new candy!" She had a huge grin on her face as she said this, showing just how much candy really meant to her. 

Ruth then shrugged the gigantic bag off her shoulder and dug through it, trying to find this fabled new candy. It took a moment before she emerged triumphant with a box of Tropical gummy bears in her hand, "Do you want to try some?" She asked her friend while bouncing on the balls of her feet. She hoped Princess would say yes, because even though candy was good it tasted a thousand times better with a friend trying it too.

Princess had been sad for so long recently, due to so many other people being upset about the prince, Eli. This was a major change in personality for Princess, who was normally so happy and optimistic all the time. She found as time went on that it was also quite exhausting.

So, she found herself in a delemia. It was either be alone and lonely or with other people and sad. So it was an extremely pleasant surprise to be greeted by a happy voice, and she felt the sadness leave her. It was like having a heavy burden lifted from her shoulders.

"Ruth! Oh I am sooo glad to see you!" Candy didn't really mean that much to Princess but she knew how much it meant to the girl in front of her. Plus, she'd tasted some every now and again, it tasted pretty good. "Really? That's absolutely amazing!" She answered to this piece of news with over the top enthusiasm that came from being able to be happy again.

When Ruth asked if she would like to try some, Princess hesitated, good dogs didn't eat candy. But she soon gave over to her now well used excuse, since she wasn't in dog form not all rules applied. A big grin spread over her face, "Yes! I'll have some candy, what are the flavors?" She hoped it was lemon, she loved how the flavor made her shiver.

Ruth nodded in excitement as Princess affirmed what the both of them knew, that Meeko's reopening was the best thing that could have possibly happened given all the sadness that had been plaguing the school for so long. Ruth didn't know Eli, and she didn't think Princess did either, but Admiral did who was their common friend. She might be a brat, but at least Ruth still cared about her friends. So if Admiral or Princess was sad so was she, but sometimes she had to pretend that she really didn't care. The villain sidekicks weren't supposed to care, they were even supposed to cheer at the news that the villains now had the upper hand and they were supposed to taunt the heroes that for once they had one. And sometimes... Ruth didn't find it very hard to pretend. 

"Uhh I don't know." Ruth said in response as she peered into the box with a curious expression on her face. She didn't know exactly what the flavors there were, at the time she was more concerned about the fact that it was one of her favorites and it was back. She had never really paid attention to candy flavors before. After all to her candy was just candy. It was just a sweet, amazing delicacy that also just happened to be the building blocks for everything back home in Sugar Rush. 

"Here, I'll just give you some and the ones you don't like you can give back." She said with a small grin as she shrugged the big bag on her shoulders down to her feet so she could pour the little bears properly without them falling everywhere. "Hold out your hands." She said at first, but never being a patient girl she decided to pour some into her own grubby and sticky with sugar hands before popping them into her mouth as she waited for the puppy. "Yumm, tropical." She said with a gummy bear filled grin.

Ruth didn't know what the flavors were but Princess didn't really care, she would like them anyway. Princess hopped up and down, her energy levels being too high, as usual.

Ruth put the bag down and told her to put out her hands Princess hopped for a few moments longer while Ruth grabbed some candy for herself. Then she delicately reached into the bag and grabbed a handful as well, popping one into her mouth.

The instant flavor was amazing, though she couldn't track down the flavor she didn't really care. She saw Ruth smiling at her and made sure that she swallowed before smiling back.

Then she sat down in front of the girl, with her jeaned legs crossed. "This candy is really good." She said, forgetting to only eat one piece at a time and stuffing the rest of her handful into her mouth. She swayed from side to side as she wondered if Ruth would race with her.
