Appearance: Grove can be imposing at first look. He is tall man with quite a bit of muscle. That paired with his bright red hair and facial hair, he looks something akin to a lumberjack. It doesn’t help that Grove is very particular in maintaining his facial hair.
Grove typically dresses like he’s expecting to do some hard labor. He loves jeans because they’re tough and hard to rip and live up to the jewel mining that he does with his family. Flannel is a big staple in his wardrobe because it keeps Grove warm while he works outside.
Typically you can find Grove walking around with his head down and his hands in his pockets. He usually has his shoulders slumped forward, especially if he’s talking to someone shorter than him.
Personality: Grove is a gruff guy with a heart of gold. People who are not his family leave him awkward and shy. He doesn’t really know how to socialize with people his own age. Because of that Grove tends to keep to himself whenever possible.
Once you get to know him, Grove is a nice guy. He is trustworthy and always willing to help out. He is loving and protective of the people he cares about. He is gentle and kind, though his appearance may say otherwise.
Grove likes to work with his hands. He likes to make things that are useful to other people. It makes him feel useful to work with his hands and helps him think through things better. He is very dedicated to the task at hand as well.

Look into the Past
History: Grove was found in a grove of birch trees, not far from home of the seven dwarves. Happy was the dwarf that found him and brought the baby home with him to let everyone decide what to do with him. It came to a vote and all but Grumpy agreed that they should keep the boy and raise him as one of their own.
The dwarves did their best with the boy, naming him after the place he’d been found. Grove adored the dwarves, his seven fathers. They raised him to work hard and appreciate his hard work. But Grove was a growing boy, not a dwarf and soon out grew his bed and his chair. He was nearly eating the dwarves out of house and home. So the dwarves taught Grove the skill of carpentry and helped to make him a bed that suited his size. They taught him to hunt for food that might feed not only the growing boy, but the seven dwarves as well. They taught him which plants and herbs were best for eat and cooking. And most importantly they taught the boy not to open the door for anyone. Ever. Under no circumstances. Witches were still a thing to be feared.
When Grove was about 12 he began to accompany the dwarves to the jewel mine where he learned to mine alongside of the dwarves. Being taller than the dwarves he could reach places they hadn’t reached before and greatly increased the production of the mine.
The dwarves were exceedingly pleased when Grove started growing a beard. As the dwarves were particularly proud of their own beards, it meant that their boy was finally a man. It was a turning point in Grove’s life. It was one evening after dinner that Doc approached the boy with the idea of going away to a school. The recommendation had come from Snow White who had kept in touch over the years. All seven dwarves had come to the decision that it might be best for their boy to get a proper education and meet some people.
Grove knew that his family wanted the best for him, so he agreed to go on the condition that when he came back, he could build his own house in the forest. So Grove packed up his things and went away to this strange school. He was eighteen when he got to the school and now he’s started the university.

Tell us a Story
RP Sample: Grove was not very good at this school thing. He’d learned to read and write. Doc had seen to that, of course. And some of the others had tried to help him learn, but weren’t as good at it as Doc. Happy at least was upbeat about the idea of a traditional school. But now that he was here Grove wished he could be back in the quiet forest, learning how to whittle from Grumpy. Or getting up to mischief with Dopey.
The cafeteria was loud and he hated it the most. Grove would much prefer to sit somewhere quietly to eat his lunch and maybe get some work done, but it wasn’t to be. This school tended to frown on that.
He turned, getting out of the lunch line with his food when he bumped into someone. “Sorry,” he mumbled, glancing up at the person briefly. “I didn’t see you.” Then he slid past them to look for a quiet place to sit. He all but ran to an empty corner table where he might be able to sit in peace.

How You Found Out About Us: Once upon a time, when I was but a wee lass, my grandmother sat me on her knee and told me a story of old. She told me that the stars would align and I would find the place I was meant to be. A wonderful pace full of magic and fairytales. But I would only find the place if I followed the will-o’-the-wisps.
