Appearance: When it comes to genetics, James definitely takes after his mother. Although he doesn't have her fabled rose red lips, he does share her raven black hair and pale skin. (However he suspects the latter comes more from being holed up inside the castle constantly.) Also add in her dark brown eyes, it's no mistake that the two are mother and son. From his father in the gene pool James received his father's just above average stature and sturdy build. Beyond that it's quite difficult to tell that the brown haired and blue eyed man is really James' father. However rest assured King Florian is this Prince's father. His mother's genes just happened to have the dominant traits...
His outfits on the other hand clearly define that he is of royal descendant. For the most part they are fancier and made from more exotic materials than one can simply find in any old boutique, and by no means is he afraid to show them off. After all wasn't he destined to have the best of the best since one day he'll be a king? However he does have some more average clothes tucked away in his dorm room since his mother forced him to bring them in order to "fit in" at a school full of fellow Royals, but it's highly unlikely he'll ever wear them. James hates his mother's view on fashion.
As for the way he carries himself, James attempts to convey a confident, and almost arrogant persona, but it's clear to anyone that pays attention that it's just an act. This is mostly due to the fact he was raised to believe that he is the best, and there was no competition to challenge that. However now he's at a school where everyone else has cool powers or powerful parents he feels insecure and almost threatened by everyone else, due to the fact his mother is known to be a naive animal whisperer, and his father is only fashionably late. So he created the facade that's he is different from his parents, but if you look closer anyone can see this is not the true James. When he thinks that nobody is paying attention his shoulders slump slightly and whatever arrogant grin he was sporting temporarily disappears. You can easily tell when he is stressed by him messing with a small necklace that his father gave to him with the family crest engraved in it. Also when he's bored he'll begin to either drum his fingers or tap his foot. Anything beyond that you'll have to turn to his facial expressions.
Personality:
First and foremost why don't we talk about the traits James shares with his parents and will no doubt mark him as Snow White's son. Just like his mother James is known to be kind and helpful to those who need it -a trait that has been drilled into him since he could wave his chubby little hands as a baby- So don't be surprised if you see this Prince helping pick up fallen textbooks or explaining how the answer to problem fourteen is twenty three, it's just how he was raised. James is also a bit of a daydreamer like Snow White, so one second he could focused on the lesson in front of him and the next he could be in Lala land imagining himself being a king or saving the day just like all great princes do.
However don't be fooled James is also a serious worker and he strives to keep good grades since it's basically the deal breaker for him to continue to attend Seacombe Halpworth Academy, because his mother insists that she can find far better tutors than the teachers at the school. -She's become a helicopter parent if you haven't been able to tell yet- so sometimes this can lead to James stressing out about a test a few weeks away because he knows that he'll be pulled out if he flunks one test. Any kid knows that being stuck in that situation is going to be downright embarrassing so James is doing whatever he can to avoid this fate. So if that means losing a few nights worth of sleep, then by god it'll be worth it in the long run.
Like his father James is also unwaveringly loyal to his friends and allies, and he would actually go to the ends of the earth for them. (Again loyalty was one of the Royal families prized traits.) By nature James is also chivalrous and he wouldn't dare make one rude joke about anyone, unless of course they had it coming for them by being a jerk to everyone else. Then in his mind it's justified to forgo the rules and regulations of princely etiquette.
Unfortunately everyone has their flaws and by no means does being a Prince give James a free pass. First and for most is his stubbornness that only his step-grandmother could rival in her quest to be the prettiest person to walk the earth. (Although it's not exactly for the same reasons...) If he sets his mind on a certain opinion, there is no way you're going to change it, and he will always believe he is right regardless of what you can say. It's like talking to a brick wall when his stubbornness takes over. James also has a generally suspicious nature of people who are related to a shady character due to the fact his bedtime stories growing up included the tale of how his parents met. He can also be considered paranoid of the possibility that someone hired an archer to shoot him off his horse during his lessons or that his food has been poisoned. (Hey it happened once, by all means it could happen again.) James also lacks self-confidence around his fellow classmates just because in just a generalization they're all better than him due to his pathetic parentage. He is also a total klutz and should not be trusted with anything of value, unless of course you want it to be shattered into a thousand tiny pieces. If it is shatterproof, you still shouldn't trust it with James, since he'll find a way. He always finds a way...

Look into the Past
History:
Born a few years after Prince Florian broke the curse that the evil witch/former queen cast on Snow White, little Prince James was born to the happy couple. Instantly he was the apple of his mother's eye. After all he seemed to take more after her than his father -Sorry Florian- and it was safe to say the boy was somewhat spoiled by Snow. (However he did still grow up knowing what it was like for the common people, thanks to her experiences as a scullery maid and her time spent hiding in the dwarf's cabin from the evil step-mother.) However that didn't come without unforeseen results...
Luckily James didn't become vain or materialistic due to the spoiling; but Snow became somewhat overprotective when it came to how the little boy was raised. Whenever possible growing up the two of them were side by side, and they weren't together at least two guards were with the rapidly growing toddler at all times. This was mostly due to the fact that someone from her own family tried to kill her several times and she was fearful of the same fate happening to either the new King and little Prince. So no fruit for James growing up, that and a super important rule of never ever sneaking off. Too many tales of people meeting their doom by doing such to even encourage that idea.
James didn't mind this however, after all he was only a little boy at the time. In fact he loved getting to spend so much time with his parents and always having a "playmate" around. Soon he earned the nickname "the mini-Queen" by spending so much time with Snow and having several of his prominent personality traits shared with her. So it was safe to say that he was a total Momma's boy growing up, which his seven "uncles" never stopped teasing him about. (Whenever this happened he normally just hid his embarrassed face until the idea that him and Grove go off and play together was suggested.) For the most part James' childhood was fairly uneventful even with the over protectiveness from his mother.
However as he became a teenager, James wanted to escape the watchful eyes of both his parents and palace guards, and experience what it's like to not to be followed every moment of his life. Unfortunately his options were extremely limited given the fact his name started with the word Prince, and his mother. So for years he quietly formed idea after idea that bore no more substance than an ancient ghost. This changed however when he learned that his childhood friend Grove had been sent to a school for Royalty and those had connections to the crown; when his seven uncles came to visit one day without the familiar redhead.
So seeing this as an opportunity to see a portion of the world that didn't involve four stone walls, he badgered both of his parents for months, begging them to let the -then- sixteen year old go off to this Seacombe Halpworth Academy. He used every excuse he could come up with ranging from "It will prepare me for becoming King one day," to "Mother! It's not like I'm going to be on my own! Grove is already attending!" and he even resorted to begging at one point, and several nerves were frayed due to his stubbornness, -also rumors began to fly about the King and Prince having quite a few arguments on this matter.- However his mother was just as equally headstrong on keeping James close by in the castle, even though she was the one who technically opened this can of worms in the first place... So it was the battle of wills essentially, with the Queen vs, the Prince constantly butting heads constantly over the matter. (King Florian had decided at this point that James needed to convince his mother in order for him to say okay to this radical idea) For quite a while it stagnant battle with neither of them giving up nor gaining any ground. Some people who visited the castle actually feared that this trivial problem might actually create a rather large rift between the once inseparable mother and son.
Which is why James was shocked when he learned that he would finally get to go to this fabled Seacombe Halpworth Academy as a surprise seventeenth birthday gift. It turns out that Snow realized that her little boy wasn't exactly so little anymore, so after a long discussion with Florian she finally caved as long he followed a few rules such as no mischief, maintain an A- average,

Tell us a Story
RP Sample:
After Seventeen years of constantly being shadowed by either a group of palace guards or his parents it was somewhat nerve wracking walking down a hall without hearing or seeing another soul. It placed the raven haired lad on edge because all his life he was told that when you where on your own, bad things were bound to happen in either the form of death, death, or sleep like death. Yeah James' bedtime stories from when he was little often took various twists and turns before finally reaching the happy ending. If it ever reached that point at all...
However the Prince would have to get used to the unnerving silence that filled his dorm hall, since after all this was his new home, and he broke a lot of the laws on etiquette to get himself here -such as begging, back talking, and yelling to his parents of all people- and he couldn't just exactly run back home with his tail between his legs just because it was a little creepy to not hear the familiar breathing of his escorts over his shoulder. After all isn't that why he came here in the first place? "It was just going to take some getting used to that's all." James silently thought to himself as he scanned the numbers on the dorm rooms searching for the number on the key that he was nervously fiddling with in his fingers.
Figuring that there was a small amount of dorm rooms it didn't take long for James to find the matching room number, and after nearly dropping the key twice due to his slightly trembling hands, he managed to unlock the door and step inside into the room that would be his for as long as he could his side of the agreement he made between his parents./He stood in the doorway just staring into the room taking it in, and to him it was an amazing room. True his chambers back home in his castle were arguably a thousand times more comfortable than the neutral colored walls and basic furnishings; but it was what the rooms represented that left the son of Snow White and King Florian in awe. The better furnished room meant that as long as he put his head down on those pillows at night, he was constantly being guarded and watched like some prized gem, not a human being. But here... Instead of being caged and confined, he was allowed to roam the entire academy grounds if he wished as long as he returned to this room at night. He was now free to do whatever he pleased -within reason of course- without being reprimanded by his mother. Now at last while he was here at Seacombe, James now had the chance to just be him. Not the proper Prince that his Mother and Father expected at every single waking moment.
With an almost giddy smile on his face at the mere thought of all the possibilities that awaited him here at this school, James lugged the trunk that contained all of his belongings that brought with him to the foot of one of the beds in the room. He was tempted to start emptying the trunk at that very moment and fill the dresser, nightstand, and bookshelves with things that would be familiar to him in this new environment, but he had a more pressing task to complete first. He had to find his old childhood friend who was somewhere on these academy grounds. After all wasn't it partially due to Grover that he even learned of this school in the first place? Also as far as he knew, it would be a surprise for the nineteen year old, because he hadn't seen the dwarfs since he received his birthday gift of coming to this school; and so that might mean that Grove would have no idea that James was here. Unless of course, in her heartbreak and betrayal that her teenaged son would actually want to go to some preppy school of staying by her side; Snow White might have told his "uncles" that he was coming and passed the new along to their son, but knowing how forgetful the seven of them could be at times it was probably unlikely. At least they have their hearts in the right place...
So after making sure that he not only had the map of the school with him, but also his schedule, dorm room key, emergency whistle -just in case,- and made sure that his trunk was safely secured so no villians could get into it and start causing trouble; James left the dorm room and went off in search of his childhood friend. Hopefully he would immediately recognize them when he found him, because after all it had been a few years since he had seen Grove's distinct red hair. Otherwise it would be mighty embarrassing later on if he found out that he had walked right by him without knowing. Oh he could already see his father's stern look when he told them of this incident during the holidays. He silently prayed that it wouldn't have to come to that though, as well as not getting lost. Now that would be something only Dopey could view with pride...
